Victory Over a Femur Fracture

Susan Feldmeyer was admitted to the Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab after a ground level fall resulting in a right femur fracture in July 2023. Upon evaluations from Occupational and Physical Therapy, Mrs. Feldmeyer required moderate assistance with both self- care and mobility tasks and was mostly limited to a wheelchair due to her limited weight bearing status. For four weeks, she worked diligently with therapy and nursing staff to increase overall strength, transfers, and balance while weight bearing was upgraded. Mrs. Feldmeyer met all her short-term and long-term goals with therapy and was able to discharge home at an independent level for both mobility and daily living tasks at a walker level.
